Being Thankful

I’m having a thankful day.  A pair of school buses inspired me.  I know that sounds odd but I can explain.  I was heading off to work and to leave my neighborhood I have to merge into a very busy highway.  I’ve been driving this route for 2 years now so it is no longer a big deal to me.  I was dinking around in the van finding a radio station, when I looked up and a bus had stopped in the road at the intersection.  Then the next bus coming in the other lane stopped next to it to let another lady and I go.  I thought that was the coolest thing ever.  So bus 17 & 33…thanks a bunch!! biggrin

So that got me to thinking of all the things I’m thankful for today.  I have a 30-minute commute so I had plenty of time to think.  It made my Friday so much better to have all those positives flying through my head.

Then Matthew came to mind.  After dinner every night my husband gives me a kiss and tells me “thank you for dinner”.  Now, after dinner Matthew will tell me, “Thanks for dinner Mom.”  He’ll keep repeating it until I tell him, “You’re welcome, Matt.”  I’m not sure if he understands truly being thankful but I bet getting the words right is a great step towards learning appreciation.  idea   X

I wanted to add that after presenting my blog to the listserv yesterday I received 191 hits!!  That is a lot of support.  I received a few great comments, some kind words and I appreciate every bit of it.  Thanks :)
