Strange Twist

Last night my hubby and I took the kids to go look at a house. (now don’t get excited…I said look, not buy )  After we were there a while, Rachel broke down crying.  She was clearly devastated by just the idea of moving.  Change is something that people with the FX premutation and full mutation have a problem with.  So, I wasn’t too surprised to really see her react this way.  I comforted her, and let her take a timeout in the van with the box of Kleenex.  (In our house, our timeouts are more of a chance to get yourself back together, than a “you screwed up now think about it” period of time.)

Matt brought the twist.  This is the kid who balks at almost all change in routine, or place. He was flitting around the house checking out rooms and opening drawers.  He would go in a bedroom and say, “Ooh, this is my room” or “Ooh, I like dis.”  He was in the kitchen opening up drawers and telling me what to put in them.  And instead of trying to get the heck out of a strange home, he would go in a room and just sit there while all the adults were talking. He won’t usually talk if someone strange is around, and he could have cared less about the real estate agent standing there.   Weird!!!  X
