Lazy Hot Friday & other ramblings

It is 95 degrees here today (so says the weather channel).  I did see some banks showing triple digits on my way in from lunch.  Of course this would be the day that the air conditioning doesn’t work at my work and our maintenance guy is golfing.    I am on the top floor and we all know heat rises.  At last look it was 90 degrees up here.  No one can focus to do much work being so hot!!  One of the officers just went and got us blizzards from Dairy Queen to help cool us off.

I went and had X-rays done on my hand.  I noticed last night that when I move my thumb that a little ways down on my hand it bulges.  As I was showing this to Kevin he also noticed that the bottom knuckle on my thumb looked off centered.  So we decided to play it safe and just get it done.  I won’t get the results back til like Monday or Tuesday!!  Nuts huh.  Glad I did it today.  It still hurts like crazy.  Though I’m a big baby when it comes to pain.

Rachel’s dad bailed on his visitation weekend again.  Though I do see his point on why he bailed and offered to swap weekends with him to make it up.  He was evicted from his house and the landlord shut off the electricity.  So he is moving with no lights.  Plus he is on call this weekend.  Top it all off he is fighting with his uncle, whom he blames for his eviction, so he didn’t want her in the middle of the ruckus. I can accept that and don’t want her there either.

Austin is off with his uncle to pick up his cousins for their 3 week visitation.  They probably won’t be home till late so he was planning on just staying the night with them.   Since we have to go get Lauren tomorrow he will probably just stay there until we get back.  Getting Lauren will take us all day so he will have plenty of time to hang out with his cousins.

And Matthew is off for his visitation with his Granna & Poppa.  Him going is so much like respite for us.  I love the weekend break every two weeks.  We can do a lot of the activities with the other kids that he doesn’t do well like take in a movie.  Plus it gives Kevin & I time to relax and refocus.

So that is us for now.  I do have a funny that I’ll share later about Matt and my mom at my aunts birthday party last night.
