The Latest on Austin

We learned yesterday afternoon that Austin has gastritis.  I looked it up on WebMD because our family doctor was not a wealth of information.  WebMD wasn’t really either.  Sooo I just have to wait until we go see the specialist.  Apparently there is a special type of doctor that deals with this sort of thing.  It’s something like a gastro -ologist, -intologist, -ist of some sort that knows a lot about gas! Our family doctor is working on that appointment and luckily we have one of those in our county.  I’ll keep you all updated :)

I was just informed that Austin will get to take a daily pill.  Our doc was going to put him on Nexium but she was all out of those samples so she is going to put him on something else.  Kevin couldn’t remember what that something else was because (in his words), “It had too many x’s and z’s in it.” 

But still no appointment with the gas specialist.

LOL…It’s Prilosec that they put him on.  I see no x’s and z’s in that word!!  :lol:

    I was on Prilosec when I lived in Houston. It does work, but you have to keep on it regularly for it to work well. Are you sure it’s not acid reflux? That’s what Prilosec is usually prescribed for.

    I hope you get to see the specialist soon!

    I am glad you found out what’s going on. I had a bout of gastritis about five years ago. No fun.
