Lost

I woke up this morning and instantly started going through my weekend.  I do this every Friday.  I rarely write anything down.  If I write something down, I’ll inevitably lose the piece of paper it’s scrawled upon.  Poor Kevin is continously baffled at my ability to lose things.  The latest thing I have lost is my eyeglasses.  So I haven’t watched television in two days.

Anyhow, I started thinking about what activities we had.  All I have is a Christmas party tomorrow night for work and I’m praying we get enough snow that I can’t go.  Though not too much snow, so Kevin & Lauren can still go to a father-daughter dance.

Then, I started milling through my various classes and realized that classes are over.  I have no homework!

So then I moved on to what things I could do with the kids, since I’m no longer swamped in homework.  I realized I only have 1 kid!!!  It’s Matthew and Rachel’s weekend to be gone.  Austin is spending the weekend with a friend.  So Lauren is an only child…again.  This seems to happen a lot lately.  And Lauren loves it.

After realizing that I have no activities, no homework, barely any kids, I began mulling over housework.  That got nipped in the bud.  Besides laundry I only have about 90 minutes of housecleaning to do because the family has been doing a great job cleaning up after themselves lately.

Then the lost feeling came over me.  I haven’t had a free weekend in a long time.  What do people do with time on their hands?  How do they do it?  What do you do with only one child??

I’ve been whining about needing a vacation, but now that I have hours upon hours of free time, I’m scared I won’t know how to fill them!

Rachel’s Wreath

A few days ago I asked for help with making a wreath for school. (Post can be viewed here) It was a family project with Rachel.  She picked out what she wanted on her wreath.  Lauren glue gunned them on.  I took pictures and offered lots of praise.  Here are the pictures of the completed wreath.

Oh, I thought it was done but she just decided that she needed to color around the cotton bells.  An artist’s work is never done ;-)
