Sicky Boy
Before I had surgery, Austin told me that he never gets sick. He bragged about how he hadn’t been sick in years. He is right, he hardly catches anything. Well, he jinxed himself. And I mean he jinxed himself good.
He got sooo sick that Kevin had to take him to the ER last night. His fever had climbed to 104 and wasn’t coming down with meds or cool bathes. His little chest hurt and he had a rattle in it.
Impressively, they were only gone about 2 1/2 hours. I can’t remember the long list of problems that Austin has but basically he has a bacterial infection. He is on some antibiotics and tussin. He already sounds 100% better this morning. He has hardly coughed at all. By the time he left the ER his fever was down to 100.1. I’m not sure if Kevin has checked it this morning but Austin is looking pretty good.
Kevin is totally my hero. He is the best husband/father EVER. He is taking this all in stride and doing what needs to be done for all of us, while trying to keep the house cleaned and going. When I am mobile again I’m going to have to do something really, really special for him.

Where’s My Bracelet??
I’ve always wondered what happened at birth that caused me to have such bad luck in my life.
An episode of George Lopez, and a news article on Jennifer Lopez’s babies, finally confirmed it for me. My mother didn’t protect me from mal de ojo. If it wasn’t bad enough that I got jipped out of having a quinceañero, I lost out on traditional Puerto Rican protection.
I even checked my baby pictures. I’m laying there all exposed next to my very
Puerto Rican momma and there is no azabache bracelet. It’s no wonder my life went to pot from the get go. My momma didn’t accurately protect me from the evil eye.
I’m doomed for life.
