Shower, etc
February 9, 2008
What does a shower mean to you?
Well, before the hysterectomy a shower meant:
- privacy
- energy

- relaxation
- cleanliness
Now, after the hysterectomy a shower means:
-
loneliness
-
exhaustion
-
work
-
sweatiness
Today has been a bit rougher than the past few. I don’t think I’ve done too much but maybe I just don’t know what too much is. I do know I’m bed bound for the rest of this day. I’m trying to enjoy the rest and relaxation BUT this is a little bit too much rest and relaxation. Nothing I can do about it though. Hopefully, it will be over before I know it.

I got my very first blogging award!! I’m very excited about it. Maddy from Whitterer on Autism graced me with the “You’re An Amazing Blogger Award.” I will share my award later in the week, or month, when I make more sense to myself. Thank you again for the award Maddy

Austin is feeling a bit better today. Kevin said his fever was up a little bit earlier. But his cough and chest sound so much better than it did.

Ugh, I’m so sorry. I remember showering after I had Punkin and then a few weeks later when I had my gall bladder removed. It was work. Congrats on the award. It made me smile when I read it on Maddy’s blog. =)

Are you on of those SUPER TYPE A types? (in my life I call them Type F due to the FX, of course) who has to do it all….
Let yourself heal, woman…..Of course, you’re exhausted. Your body needs time to re-adjust. This is the time to cash in favors from every well-meaning soul who uttered “let me know if you need anything..” Have them all buy you pizzas and stick them in the freezer. If you lived out here, I would come help out.
Hope you’re back to regular self in no time.
Maaaayyyybeeee

Glad I am not the only one that was BEYOND exhausted after showering. The good news it is totally normal to be that tired after the surgery you have had. When I had mine I also had a drain in. Showering with that was such a pain, in more ways than one. After a week or so you will all of a sudden realize, “Wow. I just showered and I am not a sweaty, tired mess. Cool!”
It will get better. I remember crying a lot because I felt like I was not accomplishing anything. But I just told myself that I was accomplishing healing myself.
Even still my belly will get quite sore and I will have to rest after a long day. Take this time while you can. Hugs!
