What!!!!
February 13, 2008
Sometimes we don’t notice when our wee ones are listening. Take tonight for example. Kevin and I were talking and forgot that Rachel was in our bathroom.
Kevin: The doc is sending me to the dermatologist to look at that thing on my leg.
Beth: Who is she sending you to?
Kevin: Dr., um, something that starts with a G.
Beth: I was hoping it wasn’t Dr. Smith.
Kevin: Well, remember the last time we were in the doc’s office? She said she didn’t like Dr. Smith and wouldn’t refer her patients to that doctor.
Beth: I’m glad. Well, let me know how this new dermatologist is. I haven’t seen one since my last visit with Dr. Smith. When your dermatologist asks you to bend over a table and spread your butt cheeks it’s time to get a new one!
Rachel: What! What! What!!! ![]()
Beth: Ooops. ![]()

And – the quieter (my husband and I) talk, the more they listen. They just can’t seem to listen when we are telling them what to do.

What! What! What!
I hope Rachel wasn’t too grossed out. Butt cheeks can be pretty traumatizing.

That is the funniest thing I’ve read today. Shari is right – the quieter adults talk, the more kids concentrate on what’s being said.
Been there. Done that!!

That’s great! I always get a kick out of my middle son, Nathan! He will be 6 this month and he picks up things we say and he repeats them! For example, Doug got so frustrated with their toys all over the house recently that he started yelling, “you guys need to get this crap picked up now or I’m gonna throw it in the trash!” so next thing I know Nathan’s walking around the house saying, “Oh I need put this crap in the trash!” or “Mom, what is this crap on the table?” etc… You get the point. LOL!

Woah! I am saying the same thing! Did the doctor really ask to do that? Looking for moles or something? Gadz.
Yeah she really did!! I have psoriasis and had been seeing the doc for 15 years. That was the 1st time she EVER asked me to do that. I didn’t find it necessary, didn’t do it, and haven’t been back. She is cuckoo!!
