pray.gifSuzanne from Just a bunch of nothin’ is enduring a tough week.  I won’t go into details since it is her story but basically she is going against the school to defend her 19 year old fragile X son, Jonathan.  Any of us who has had to endure public scrutiny of our special needs children know just how hard it is to sit there calmly while complete strangers tear down our child.  Please put Suzanne in your thoughts and prayers this week as she struggles through this.  What is going on with her boy could easily happen to any one of us. :(

    I have been praying for them, and will continue to do so. Thanks for drawing attention to her need for prayer.

    I wasn’t aware of the full scope of the situation until this morning. It hurt me so bad that I was in tears. I had to do something and this was the only something I could think of. Nothing is better than the power of prayer :)

    Sometimes, you’re just bumping along in this world, right as rain…..and then out of nowhere, someone extends an unexpected kindness and you just start BAWLING. Bless you for thinking of us.

    It has been a hard month. But I am strong. I mean, after all, I LIVE WITH FRAGILE X. It’s gonna take more than some pissy underpaid administrators to break my spirit. My coughing has subsided and I am on the way towards something resembling healthy. So, I am digging in my heels and readying myself.

    If all else fails, “death by chocolate” cures everything.

    Prayers are being sent… battling with schools is not how we should be investing our time. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    I am smiling and joyfully remembering a little chorus that I would sing with the kids when they were troubled (your Angel reminded me.) “All day … All night … Angels watchin’ over me My Lord. All day … All Night … Angels watchin’ over me.” I remember singing it all the way across a very long bridge across Tampa Bay after a tire blew out. The kids were so scared … the song pulled us through smiling.

    My thoughts are with Suzanne and I hope that she solves the school problems quickly. We think and hope the battles are over as they get older but things still come along to knock us for six don’t they.

    My own FX son is 18 today. His first 3 or so years seemed long but I am wondering where the rest of the years have gone! I used to dread the thought of him growing up but you know I am now quite pleased I still have a “child” around. :-)
