Spring Ahead

Time changes are just dumb.  Though I really enjoy this one.

daylight.gifWhen our government decided to lessen the time between clock changes they really should have just obliterated it all together.  Arizona proves that they aren’t essential to our survival.  They never change their clocks and seem to be doing just fine.

It messes with me in three different ways.

The first one is because my work dress code hinges on the time change. I work at a bank and they have it set where in the winter months we must wear business attire.  That means that the men have to wear ties and dress shirts and the women have to wear closed toe shoes and panty hose.  Silly isn’t it.  When the time changes in March we get to go to business casual.  The men get to ditch ties and wear polo shirts and Dockers.  The women can ditch the panty hose and wear cute little sandals.  There is obviously more to our dress code than that but that is the gist of it.

I have to have two separate wardrobes.  One for winter and one for summer.  Well, winter is now only four months long! Who wants to buy clothes for 4 months of work. Not me! The bank president is trying to convince the Board to make it arizona.jpgbusiness casual all year long but until some more die off of the committee we are all stuck. Honestly though, do you really notice if the people that work at your bank are in business casual or straight business attire?  Do you care? I didn’t think so.

The other issue I have is that Arizona doesn’t change their clocks.  We have family and friends in various parts of that state and I can never remember if their clocks are with us or what!  It is sooo confusing.

The biggest issue I have, and I’m sure many of you deal with this, is our kids.  Matt and Rachel never did adjust to the last time change.  So this one was very welcome.  They won’t need to adjust to it since they never did in the first place.  I’m going to enjoy them going to bed at 9 mccain.gifinstead of 7:45 p.m.  I will definitely enjoy them waking up at 6 a.m. instead of 5! That one has been killing me.

Ya know, if a presidential nominee was going to strike time changes from our country I might just vote for him.  McCain is from Arizona….where they don’t change their clocks.  It is a possibility!
