Breaking Dawn

Lauren and I went to a midnight release party for Breaking Dawn at our local library.  We had a lot of fun together but we are exhausted.  We got to talk a lot about teen stuff which I love.  I feel good that I’ve made myself accessible to her to share things that most teens would otherwise be afraid of sharing with their parents.  We waited 90 minutes for the doors to open so we talked a lot!!

When the party started we just hung out and visited with the other mothers and daughters that were out.  There were at least 100 people.  I thought that was pretty good since it was one of 3 such parties in town.  We got a free t-shirt and they had snacks and drinks.  A bunch of kids played Halo 3 while we waited and they were playing The Grudge on the tv.

When it was close to time for the book to be released they put us into sections of about 15 people each.  We got tickets so that determined which section we were in.  I was 13 and Lauren was 14.  They did a drawing for the whole Twilight series.  We barely missed it.  Number 16 won.  But I was pretty glad that the woman that won it did.  She was beyond in love with these books.  As people showed up she was asking them if they were on Team Edward or Team Jacob.  She talked about all aspects of it.  She was waaaayyyy into it.

After we got our books we went to Walmart.  Yep, crazy me went to Wally World at 12:30 a.m.  I don’t know about where you live but our Walmart gets insanely packed on the first weekend of every month.  What is usually a 60 minute shopping trip will turn into 180 minute trip, and half of that is standing in line!!  So I got all of my payday shopping done and came home and died.

I have started the book.  Unluckily, or maybe luckily, my tummy is sore this morning so I’m taking it easy.  I’m on Chapter 5 and I’m loving it!!  It’s not anything like I was expecting it to be which is exactly how I love my book series to go.  Stephenie Meyers is definitely one talented writer.  I’m quite envious :)

At Walmart I bought the Lost Boys: The Tribe.  Apparently it is going to be one blood sucking weekend ;-)
