Rachel’s Funny Fill-in

Rachel and I did a funny fill-in from her National Geographic Kids magazine.  She wanted me to share it with you on the blog

I designed the fastest volcano ever for my school’s science fair.  I built a mountain out of gum and filled the inside with flour and dish soap.  Then I added a small amount of tea to make green lava skate out of the top.  It was awesome!  I was sure my entry would beat out the other students’ clear projects.  Darrin had built an earwig racetrack.  Terri constructed a dirty robot that could make a peanut butter and ice cream sandwich in ten seconds.  But when the judges came to my table, I was so slowthat I accidentally poured an entire bottle of tea into the volcano.  Suddenly it started spewing lave 1,000 feet into the air.  Judge Howle was so startled that he ran over the racetrack, sending hundreds of insects floating in every direction.  When one of them landed on Terri’s nose, she swam into her robot, which then started screaming sandwiches lazily across the room.  People were running in ovals and screaming at the top of their butts.  So maybe I didn’t win the science fair this year.  But I sure made an impression on the judges!
