Austin’s Great Adventure

I woke up from a very deep sleep last night to a knocking on the door.  Like any good wife I sent my husband to investigate.  After he exited our bed I leaned over to see what time it was.  The bright green numbers saddened me.  It was 12:30.  Ugh I was sleeping so good!

I was awake but not really.  I obviously didn’t fear the knock at the door because I rolled over and shut my eyes again.  I left my ears open, just in case.  I heard Kevin talking to someone but they were hushed sounds so I wasn’t too concerned.  I was still curious though.

When Kevin came back to bed, maybe ten minutes later, I asked who was at the door.

“Austin,” he replied.

I was awake now! 

“Why was he at the door?!” 

“It appears he is sleep walking.  He got up to go find you and Lauren.  He told me you guys went outside so he went out to find you.”

“Was he awake when he was knocking at the door?”

“I don’t think so.  Somehow he locked himself out of the house and was knocking on the door to be let back in.  I got him back to bed but he still thinks you and Lauren are off somewhere.”

“Nice.”

I laid there and listened for a few more minutes to make sure I didn’t hear the doors opening to the outside and then I fell back asleep.

This morning I asked Austin if he could remember any of it.  Nope.  Not a thing.
