Rachel was really missing Kevin last night. She wanted to go with me to pick him up from work. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t have gotten home till past her bedtime. Shortly after I tucked her into bed, Kevin called to let me know that a coworker was bringing him home. I always tease him about this particular coworker and call him his boyfriend. They get along so well together that they could almost be a married couple. 
After I got off the phone with Kevin, I told Rachel that Kevin was getting a ride home. She jumped up out of bed, gives me a squeezy hug, a
nd goofily tells me, “I’m so sorry that Dad has a boyfriend, Mom”
“You are huh?”
“Yeah. Dads are only supposed to have wives.”
Before I could get a word out she says, “I just said wives, huh!?”
We both giggled for a minute and then she hugs me again and says, “Don’t worry Mom. You are the only wife Dad could handle.”
