Fun while Matty’s sick this week

Kleenex

Matt came in looking for a kleenex.  Huge improvement since he is not a fan of wiping his nose with anything other than his shirt.  I didn’t have any in my room.  Two minutes later he came in with a brand new set of kleenex.  Three boxes all wrapped up in plastic.  He tossed them at me and told me, “Here Mom.”  I planned to only open one of the boxes but he insisted that all three needed to be opened.  All right.  So I opened all three.  He took the trash and threw it away.  Then he took the other two boxes and lined them up in the kitchen window.

Movies

We have watched Cars only once!  But we have seen Finding Nemo 5 times – 3x’s in his room and twice in mine.

Naps

He has managed to take two naps a day!  I’ve averaged one for less than 30 minutes a pop.

Feeling

His fever got so high he actually told me, “I’s hot, Mom.”  So I got obsessed with checking for a fever.  I don’t know why.  It hasn’t officially broke in 4 days!  But apparently, he got sick of me checking.  I tried to feel his forehead earlier and he shoved me away. “I’m fine, Mom!”  Well, okay then.

Not the Throat!!

He now loves seeing his pediatrician.  Only took 12 years.  He will lean in to listen to the birdy (ear check).  He lifts his shirt up so the doc can hear his heart and lungs.  He puts his head all the way back so the doc can look in his nose.  But, well, um….don’t ask to look inside his mouth.  He hears open wide and he gags.  And he gags.  And gags a little more.  And then pukes.  So this time he did two gags and decided to bolt.  He was close.  He had one foot out the door but we rescued him.  And we didn’t look at the throat.

R E S P E C T

I am getting a Mr. Manners.  Matthew waits until after Kevin & I are done eating and then he takes our dishes to the kitchen sink.  Now if I could get him to rinse them

Sneaky Sneaky

He asks for food…which is good.  But he eats a bite or two, making me feel good that he is eating, and then he dumps the rest when I’m not looking.  He doesn’t cover it up very well though.  I have found food dumped in the sink, thankfully on the garbage disposal side, peeking out of the trash, and laying on his night stand. 

Just Lose It

Another trend I found, that I don’t like, came from fever spiking.  When his fever spiked, he lost it.  He would pee himself and have a massive case of diarrhea.  Not enjoyable!
